Ateneo de Manila is HKIMO PH heat round’s #1 most outstanding school; Abarquez and Algenio win gold

Thanks to the combined efforts of the 19 mathletes from Ateneo de Manila Grade School, Ateneo de Manila Junior High School, and Ateneo de Manila Senior High School who won a total of 11 golds, five silvers, and three bronzes in the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) Philippines Heat Round 2021, Ateneo de Manila University was ranked as the heat round’s #1 Most Outstanding School. 

Of these 19 mathletes, the two who were from the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School were Lance Abarquez (La Storta/8-Delgado) and Xavier Algenio (Montserrat/8-Isore), who won the gold award for the HKIMO heat round’s secondary 3 and secondary 2 divisions, respectively.

The 2021 HKIMO Philippines heat round was held online on May 3, 2021.
