Biography:
Fr. IJ Chan-Gonzaga is a member of the Society of Jesus and is currently Chaplain of the Ateneo Professional Schools. He teaches Agrarian Reform and Theology and the Law in ALS. He also teaches Legal Ethics in the Ateneo de Zamboanga University College of Law.
IJ was Executive Director of the Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan from 2008 to 2009 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2011. Thereafter, he served as President of the Loyola College of Culion in Palawan until he entered Ateneo Law in 2012. As a law student, he has interned with the Ateneo Human Rights Center and the Jesuit Refugee Service in Cambodia.
Ij graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo Law School in 2016. He obtained his MA in Pastoral Ministry from the Ateneo, as well as his Bachelor of Sacred Theology (Magna cum laude) from Loyola School of Theology, in 2011. He also has an MA in Philosophy (2006) and a BS degree in Legal Management (2000), both from Ateneo de Manila University.
