Biography: 
Maita Chan-Gonzaga is currently serving as Ateneo Law’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (since 2018). Her areas of interest include political law, civil law, human rights and legal ethics. Aside from her administrative and teaching duties in Ateneo Law, she lectures in Ateneo de Zamboanga University College of Law, as well as for the Master of Laws Program of the Universidad de Deusto. She teaches Contract Law in the Virtual Campus of the Universidad Internacional de Andalucia (for the Special Course in Spanish Law taught in English), while also serving as Co-Director for the course in 2020-2021.
 
Maita is currently a member of the Committee on International Law and International Affairs of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Prior to joining Ateneo Law full time in June 2015, she served as Commissioner of the Presidential Commission on Good Government, having been appointed by President Aquino in September 2010.  Previous professional commitments include engagements as an associate of Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & De Los Angeles Law Office (2002-2004) and as Program Officer of the Working Group for an ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism – Ateneo Human Rights Center (2004-2010). 
 
Maita obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo Law School in 2002, graduating valedictorian of her class and receiving the St. Thomas More Award for the Most Distinguished Graduate. She obtained her Magister Juris from Oxford University in 2008.  She took the 2002 Bar Examinations (ranked 4th) and has been teaching at Ateneo Law since admission to the Philippine Bar in 2003.
 
Maita served as Civil Law Bar Examiner for the Philippine National Bar Examinations in 2018.
