DOROTAN-TIUSECO, Maria Luwalhati C.
Alu graduated from the Ateneo Law School in 2006 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar the following year. In 2011, she obtained her Masters of Law in Energy and Environment from Tulane University Law School in New Orleans as a Harry F. Stiles awardee. Alu has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since October 2012.
Save for her time with Picazo Buyco Tan Fider & Santos, Alu has spent most of her career in government service. In 2008, Alu joined the Office of the Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel F. Zubiri as its Chief Legal Counsel. Upon her return from USA, she joined the Metro Manila Development Authority as its spokesperson and permanent representative to the Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Presidential Cabinet Cluster. She has served as a member of the board of directors of the Light Rail Transit Authority and Laguna Lake Development Authority, and Board Secretary of the Metro Manila Council. In 2013, Alu joined the Office of Senate President Franklin M. Drilon as Director for Legislation.
