Anton Sison of 4-N is Quezon City champ of Voice of Our Youth Impromptu Speaking Competition

Besting contestants from more than 30 other high schools is Quezon City, Ateneo de Manila High School senior Anton Sison of 4-N emerged as one of the two champions of the 12th Voice of Our Youth  National Impromptu Speaking Competition’s district finals. The other winner was Miriam College High School’s Nikki Lucenario, a friend of Sison’s. As the QC district champs, Sison and Lucenario each won P15,000 in cash, and they will both  represent Quezon City at the national finals of the competition in February.

The Quezon City elimination rounds for the Voice of Our Youth National Impromptu Speaking Competition were held at the Quezon City Hall Lecture Room A on October 27 and November 3. The QC district finals were held in the afternoon of  November 10, from 1:00 pm to 3:30pm in the same venue. Each of the nine district finalists had to make an impromptu speech on the topic, "If I was president of the Philippines with three years left in my term, what are the three things I will do to uplift the Filipino Youth?" They were given a few minutes to prepare their speech and five to six minutes to deliver it in front of the audience.
