Mat Crespo of 4L establishes two new records at UAAP Season 75 Track & Field championship; Lonzo Arellano of 4D is named Rookie of the Year

Three Ateneo de Manila HIgh School seniors- Mat Crespo of 4L, Gabriel Vera Cruz of 4K and Lonzo Arellano of 4D- put on sterling performances at the UAAP Season 75 Track and Field/Athletics championship held from December 4 to 7, 2012 at the PSC Ultra in Pasig.On the first day of the competition, Crespo established a new record in the junior division for the discus throw, throwing a 1.75kg disc a distance of  33.39 meters. Two days later, on December 6, Crespo established a new record in the hammer throw, beating the record which he established last year at UAAP Season 74. Similarly, it was another Ateneo HS senior who was declared Rookie of the Year in the junior boys division. Lonzo Arellano of 4D was named Rookie of the Year after he won the gold medal in the pole vault competition, clearing the bar when it was set at 2.90 meters. Gabriel Vera Cruz's medal haul, on the other hand, was one gold for the long jump, two silvers for the 100m dash and 4x100m relay, and a bronze for the 4 x 400m relay.

Gaspar Lorenzo (4L) - silver, Shot Put; bronze, Hammer Throw
Mikee Ruiz (4B) - bronze, 400m dash; bronze, 4 x 400m relay
Rabbi Villanueva (3D) - bronze, 400m low hurdles; silver, 4x100m relay; bronze, 4x400m relay 

Ateneo de Manila High School placed third overall in the junior boys division.
