AHS students’ 'mica PH' is selected as one of Harvard’s Social Innovation Global Trailblazers!

L-R: Earl Mabulay, Julian Patdu, Vinz Ferrer, Diego Manalastas, and Manuel NgAteneo de Manila High School students Earl Mabulay, Julian Patdu, Vinz Ferrer, Diego Manalastas, and Manuel Ng- all from the class of 12-O- have been selected as one of the winners of Harvard University’s Village to Raise a Child 2015 global competition. The boys, who joined the contest as MicaPH, won for a proposed app that hopes to revolutionize health care in the Philippines (see video at the top of this page).  Faculty member Marion Olmillo  of the AHS Computer Subject Area mentored the boys in the competition.

As one of the groups selected by the judges, MicaPH is now a certified Social Innovation Collaborative Global Trailblazer. All five winning groups will present their respective projects at the Igniting Innovation Summit on Social Entrepreneurship to be held at Harvard University on November 14, 2015.

A total of 28 teams from Brazil, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Nepal, and Egypt joined the 2015 Village To Raise A Child competition.
