Ateneo HS band ALYSON wins ICA's Battle of the Best bandfest!

Alyson- a band composed of Ateneo de Manila High School students Miguel Erfe (12J), Pio Ligot (12M), Luis Uy (12E), and Marcus Mababangloob (12B)- won the top prize at the ICA Fair’s annual Battle of the Best bandfest last October 19. In addition to winning the competition, each member of the band also received a brand new cellphone. Alyson bested four other high school bands for the title: 911, Mon’s Dating a Gangster, Anything Will Do, and Built to Crash.   
 
At ICA’s 2013 bandfest, the Ateneo de Manila High School band Ashley’s Kryptonite won the competition, making Alyson’s victory in the 2014 edition a back-to-back feat for Ateneo High School.
 
Alyson’s lead vocalist is Pio Ligot while its lead guitarist is Luis Uy. Miguel Erfe is on bass while Marcus Mababangloob is on drums.
 
The bandfest was held at ICA’s Lin Lin Chung Assembly Hall.  

Alyson is regularly invited to perform at Ateneo High School events and concerts. At the top of this page is video of Something About You, performed by Alyson during the launch of Teachers' Month last September 8 at the AHS covered courts. (The video was shot by Cynthia D. Nuval.)
