Ateneo HS finishes 3rd in UAAP 76 Fencing Championship

Simon Borja (3-I) took home one gold medal and one silver medal from the UAAP Season 76 fencing championship.After four days of intense sword-fighting, the Ateneo de Manila High School fencing team finished third overall in the UAAP Season 76 Fencing Championship, junior men’s division. University of the East (UE) claimed the title for the third consecutive year, while University of Santo Tomas (UST) took second place.

Team Ateneo High School's medal haul was one gold medal, two silver medals, and two bronze medals:Jacob Villanueva (3K) won two silver medals and one bronze medal in the UAAP Season 76 fencing championship.

Individual Epee, GOLD: Simon Borja (3I)
Individual Foil, SILVER: Jacob Villanueva (3K)
Team Epee, SILVER: Michael Tan (4H), Cedric Tiongson (3H), Simon Borja (3I), and Jacob Villanueva (3K)   
Team Foil, BRONZE: Carlos Manalo (4N), Jacob Villanueva (3K), Jezrel Bugtas (2M), and Gabriel Ocampo (1K).
Team Saber, BRONZE: Ethan Bennett (3I), Christopher Dizon (2B), Ednil Bugtong (2C), and Roan Libarios (2D).
 
The tournament was held from January 30 to February 2 at the Blue Eagle Gym.
The AHS Fencing Team is coached by Ryan Janeo, Avelino Victorino, and Edward Daliva.  The AHS Foil Team.
