Ateneo HS places 2nd in UAAP Season 77 Fencing; Viceo is Rookie of the Year!

With a haul of one gold, three silver and three bronze medals, the Ateneo de Manila High School fencing team finished second over all in the UAAP Season 77 fencing championship, boys division.  And while University of the East (UE) claimed a five-peat, it was an Atenean- Jolo Viceo of 9F- who was awarded Rookie of the Year in the boys division.JOLO VICEO, UAAP Season 77 Rookie of the Year in fencing, boys division. Individual Épée: Simon Borja (12-I)- Silver

Individual Foil:  Jolo Viceo (9-F)- Silver

Individual Sabre: RV Libarios (11-D) - Silver; Ethan Bennett (12-I) - Bronze

Team Sabre: Ethan Bennett (12-I), RV Libarios (11-D), Chris Dizon (11-B), Og Bugtong (11-C)- Bronze

The Ateneo High School fencing team is coached by Ryan Janeo.

The UAAP Season 77 fencing championships were held at the UP Diliman College of Human Kinetics Gym from December 4 to 7, 2014.
