Cenon Gonzales Jr. of 1-D wins two tennis titles in 4th Olivarez Cup

Last Sunday, September 1, Ateneo de Manila High School freshman Cenon Gonzales Jr. of 1-D took home not one, but two tennis titles in the 4th Olivarez Cup: the singles championship in the boys 14 under division, and the doubles championship, also in the 14 under boys division. Cenon shared the doubles title with fellow Atenean Mik Balce of Ateneo Junior High School 8-Berchmans.
 
Last summer, from April to May 2013, Cenon won eight titles in various tournaments all over the Philippines. They are:

1. Juntaphil Barcelona Cup, 14 under boys singles champion (April 2-7, 2013)
2. Angeles National Age Group, 14 U boys champion (April 8-13)
3. Henry Lee Memorial Age Group, 14 U boys champion (April 15-21)
4.Alabang 1018 14 under singles Champion (April 29-May 5)
5. Head Junior Satellite Circuit Baguio Age Group, 14 U singles champion (May 19-23)
6. Juntaphil Barcelona Cup, 14 U doubles champion with partner Rap Teng (April 2-7)
7. Angeles National Age Group, 14 U doubles champion with partner Rap Teng (April 8-13)
8. Head Junior Satellite Circuit Baguio, 14 U doubles champion with partner, Miko Eala (May 19-23)

For these amazing achievements over the summer, Cenon was acknowledged in front of the AHS community in a recognition ceremony that was held at the end of the Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was held last August 15, 2013 at the AHS Covered Courts.
