A Fresh Start for Ateneo HS Freshies
It is never easy to start somewhere new. Often, we try to cling to what we have known for the longest time, such that any new experience is met with a degree of anxiety. Recognizing this, the Ateneo de Manila High School community prepared an informative and fun day for its newest members, the freshman batch of School Year 2013-2014. To start the day right, the students had their first Mass as students of the AHS. After that was the program proper. Included in the program were talks from the principal and associate principals. The students were also treated to an IndAK performance and a Cheer Rally from the Blue Babble Band & Battalion before heading off to their own classes for their session with their moderators and activities with their classes and batch.
Some students had these to say about their first day:
It was fun, I learned so much about my classmates. I would remember the routines that our teachers told us and the new rules our teacher also taught us. -PAULO SABLAYA, 1F
It was really fun since I met a lot of new friends, and I got together with my old friends as well. -JOSEF CALLEJA, 1B:
My first impression was that even though it seems hard and people say it’s hard, I’ve seen teachers and I’ve seen the people that are willing to help me. I feel that it’s going to be a good year for me. -RAFAEL RAMIRO, 1A
I might have fun in the high school… I will discover [new] things, I will get to know more my religion, and I will get to see some of my friends. -MATT SY, 1L
It was fine. I was nervous at first, but with the Fourth Year being with us, it kind of rubbed off on me, and it turned out to be a fun thing. -JOHN ALMARIO, 1N
I liked the intermission numbers, the performances, especially the IndAK and the Blue Babble… I want this school year to be a fun and memorable one, like we’re entering a new chapter and I want it to be a memorable one, and I want to meet new friends. -GIAN FAUSTO, 1J
Welcome to the high school, Freshies! Make your stay an enjoyable and meaningful one.
