IndAK is first runner-up in DanCelebration 2013
Ateneo de Manila High School’s premier dance troop, Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan (IndAK), came close to claiming a three-peat championship in the interschool dance competition, DanCelebration 2013. After winning back-to-back DanCelebration titles in 2011 and 2012, IndAK settled for first runnerup honors in the 2013 edition, bowing to Immaculate Conception Academy's ICA DT. DanCelebration 2013 was held in the afternoon of Saturday, February 23, at DLSU in Manila. Its theme was “Love,” and video of IndAK's charming and captivating performance can be seen in the video shot by AC Medina that is playing above.
Competing for IndAK at DanCelebration 2013 were Jon Michael Castillo, Jason Go, Rolf Lamela, Paolo Parungo, Ken Caliwara, Joe Morabe, Boju Garcia, Busta Pascua, Jason Mison, Anton Fausto, Sef Remollo, Cyril Sindac, and Rap Oronce. Their charming and captivating piece was choreographed by Xernan Alfonso. For their second place finish, IndAK was awarded a P15,000 cash prize.
At the Ateneo de Manila High School's annual Recognition Day Awarding Ceremony earlier in February, IndAK was given the Saint Ignatius Award- the highest award conferred to groups- for its selfless dedication to promote a culture of dance in the AHS. IndAK was also cited for presenting " X," its 10th anniversary dance concert which also served as a fund-raiser for the Ateneo Center for Educational Development (ACED).
Last August, IndAK was named champion of the interschool dance competition Maximum Groovity 8, which included a high school division for the first time in 2012.
