AHS senior Getty Reyes wins 4 Golds, 3 Bronzes in two int'l swimming meets
Incoming Ateneo de Manila High School senior Getty Reyes of 4-H 2014 competed in the Guam Pentathlon Meet held last May 4, 2013, winning four gold medals and one bronze medal in the competition. The bronze was for the 100m breaststroke, while the four golds were for the 200m individual medley, 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly, and 100m backstroke. Getty was declared second overall in his age group at the meet based on total time.
Two weeks before the Guam pentathlon, Getty also competed in the Hong Kong Mantas Invitational Swim Meet held on April 20-21. There, he won two bronze medals for the 100m backstroke and 50m backstroke.
Getty Reyes is one of the Ateneo High School’s most accomplished swimmers. At the UAAP Season 75 swimming championship held from September 27 to 30, 2012 in Los Baños, he won seven gold medals and was named MVP in the junior boys division. Getty was also the inaugural recipient of the most bemedaled player award in the junior boys division. The AHS swim team was 8-peat junior boys champion of UAAP 75.
