Incoming AHS junior Marcen Gonzales wins fifth tennis title this summer!

Incoming Ateneo de Manila High School junior Marcen Angelo Gonzales of 3C 2014 recently bagged the championship in the Angeles Age Group Tennis Tournament, 16 under boys division. Held in Angeles City, Pampanga, the tournament was concluded late in the afternoon of Saturday, April 13. This latest title is the fifth championship Marcen has won this summer, following title wins in the Olivarez Open (16U boys division) on March 17, the Cainta Open (16 U boys), and Juntaphil Baguio Tennis Tournament, where he won the championship in both the 16U and 18 U boys divisions.

Marcen Gonzales is one of the AHS varsity lawn tennis team's most reliable and accomplished players. During school year 2012-2013, the team swept all three major lawn tennis tournaments in the high school division, winning the PRADA, PAYA, and ISTA (Inter School Tennis Association) championships. Marcen played singles and doubles games in all three tournaments. Last August 25, Marcen won the championship in both the 16 under and 18 under boys divisions of the 25th Milo Junior Tennis Cup.
