Marcen Gonzales wins SIXTH tennis title in two months!

Incoming Ateneo de Manila High School junior Marcen Angelo Gonzales (3C 2014) has won his sixth lawn tennis championship this summer. On April 19, Marcen won the  Henry Lee Memorial age group tournament, 16 under boys division. The competition  was held in the tennis courts of the Manila Polo Club.  

Marcen’s sensational summer winning streak began last March 17, when he won the Olivarez Open championship, 16U boys division. He quickly followed this feat with two wins in one tournament, bagging both the 16U and 18U boys division titles of the Juntaphil-Barcelona junior tennis cup held in Baguio on April 7. Six days later, on April 13, Marcen captured the 16U boys division title in the Angeles Age Group tennis championship held in Angeles City, Pampanga.     

Marcen Gonzales is one of the AHS varsity lawn tennis team's most accomplished players. During school year 2012-2013, the team swept all three major lawn tennis tournaments in the high school division, winning the PRADA, PAYA, and ISTA (Inter School Tennis Association) championships. Marcen played singles and doubles games in all three tournaments.
