The John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) is honored and pleased to announce that for the tenth straight year of case competitions, Ateneo de Manila successfully landed in the podium. It won the Silver Award in the 2021 HKBU-IIBD business case competition (on-line version).

Upon its establishment in 2008, Ateneo has actively competed every year in this global business leaders’ case competition. Since 2011, the university has consistently landed in the top three positions in the finals! This record has yet to be matched by any other university competing in HKBU-IIBD.
This year’s team is composed of four Management Engineering majors and their coach, who likewise is an ME major but has a double degree in Mathematics:
1.    Tiffany Golangco
2.    Hazel Si
3.    John Lee
4.    Bea Reyes
5.    Head Coach – Mr. Gabe Sin (BSME 2018, BSMath 2019)

The gold prize went to Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. While the Bronze Award was brought home by the Ivey Business School, Canada. This year’s competition comprised of student teams from 37 universities in 21 countries all over the world.
The consistency with which JGSOM competes in reflects the excellent quality of education the school brings to its business students. Over the past fourteen years since the school has been competing, the case pedagogy has constantly produced students that are well prepared for real life business issues and come out with the self confidence of bringing well thought out and organized business solutions in the marketplace. JGSOM aima to continue this vision in the development of the nation’s business leaders in the future.
