AASA celebrates 32nd Anniversary
August 29, 2019
Last August 17, the Ateneo Alumni Scholars Association (AASA) celebrated its 32nd Anniversary at the University Dorm Basement together with the AASA Family - Board of Directors and Staff, current AASA Scholars, and some alumni scholars and guests.

The event began with a mass presided by Fr. William "Bill" H. Kreutz, SJ, founder of AASA who coincidentally, also celebrates his birthday on the month of August. Fr. Bill celebrates his 84th birthday this year and his 61st year of his priesthood. In his homily, he reminisced his early years here in Ateneo as a teacher. In celebration also of Fr. Bill's birth-month, the AASA Family surprised him with a cake and sang him a happy birthday afterwards. The celebration was concluded with a boodle-fight themed lunch where everyone - students and alumni, old and young - shared a meal and mingled with one another. Among those who joined AASA in celebration are Dr. Manny B. Dy, former OAA Director, Mr. Monchito A. Roco, OBE Foundation Chairman, and an alumni scholar from LA, USA, Mr. Joey R. Escobar.
Since it was founded in 1987, AASA has grown to be this organization that serves as a bridge between present and alumni scholars with hopes of creating a larger community which aims to give students the opportunity to study in the Ateneo. For school year 2019-2020, the AASA aims to support 50 enrolled scholars in the Loyola Schools, including 20 new freshman scholars."
