Inbound Exchange Students
Some reasons to study the humanities at the Ateneo de Manila University:
- The Ateneo de Manila University has been earmarked by the ASEAN International Mobility for Students Programme (AIMS Programme) as a recipient university in the field of language and culture.
- Ateneo, through its Department of English, is ranked in the QS World University Ranking as one of the top in the world for English Language and Literature Teaching.
- The Departments of English and Philosophy have been recognized by the Philippine Commission of Higher Education (CHED) as Centers of Excellence in the fields of English (Literature) and philosophy, respectively. The Department of Filipino has been recognized by CHED as a Center of Development in the field of Philippine Literature.
- The departments under the School of Humanities' wing are central to the liberal arts core curriculum that Ateneo is known for, providing every degree-seeking Ateneo student with 12 units each of philosophy, theology and English, 9 units of Filipino, and 3 units of a foreign language (some of which are offered by the Department of Modern Languages). In addition, the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and the Fine Arts Program offer a rich variety of courses in the traditional arts, creative writing, theater arts, art management, information design, and new forms of artistic expression.
- Students studying the humanities at Ateneo have access to the Ateneo Art Gallery, the first museum of modern art in the Philippines.
