Three SOSE students are BPI-DOST Science Awardees from Ateneo de Manila University for 2017

Three outstanding Ateneo students from the School of Science and Engineering were named BPI-DOST Science Awardees from Ateneo de Manila University for 2017.
 

The BPI-DOST Science Awardees 2017 from Ateneo de Manila University

Awarded were Andrea Marie C. Dobles (BS Life Sciences) [for her research entitled   “Antioxidants identified from the Mature Seed Embryos of Moringa oleifera Lam. Through Functional Genomics (Transcriptome Analysis)],” Sheena Anne H. Garcia (BS/MS Chemistry) [for her research on “Pickering Emulsion:  Emulsion Stabilized by Particles from Golden Apple Snail Shells (Pomace canalicuta Lamarck) for Potential Applications in Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics”] and Joshua Eric Romulo B. Uyheng (BS Mathematics) [for his research on “The Tail Probability Ratio and Survival Function of General Distributions”].

The awardees were selected based on academic performance, leadership and outstanding research.
 

BPI-DOST Science awardees 2017 from 10 universities

The BPI-DOST Science Awards is now on its 27th year and has recognized over 800 outstanding young scientists from across the Philippines. On its 28th year, the awards will further align with the efforts of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), wherein science plays a crucial role to successfully achieve or even exceed the targets set for 2030.
 

Awarding of BPI-DOST Science Awards at the Mind Museum in Taguig

The awarding ceremonies for the 30 awardees from 10 universities were held last April 4, 2017 in the Mind Museum.
 
The awarding ceremonies in Ateneo will be held on April 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Faber Hall 101.
