Keynote Speaker
Terada Takefumi, professor of Anthropology and Southeast Asian Studies at the Institute of Asian Cultures, Sophia University, is the current dean of the Graduate School of Global Studies. He obtained his Ph.D. from the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of the Philippines, Diliman campus. His scholarly works focus on popular religiosity and Christianity in the Philippines, particularly on the devotion to the Santo Nino. He has also done works on the Christian churches during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. His current research interests include religious pilgrimage (El Camino de Santiago de Compostela), imagining Philippine national cuisine, and Catholic foreign communities in Japan.
