SoSS Holds Online Teaching Workshop

The School of Social Sciences (SoSS) organised a workshop on online teaching on 27 September 2014. A dozen academic staff from the Loyola Schools participated in the workshop, which aimed at introducing the faculty members to the basic principles of online teaching. Sheryl Lim and Abigail Lewis of ABS-CBN’s Organization Development Department and Cheryl Nasol, Coordinator for the MA Journalism Program of the Department of Communication, conducted the workshop. Participants not only listened to talks but also tried navigating an online classroom.

The activity is a faculty development initiative of the School of Social Sciences. Dr. Olivia Habana, Coordinator of the Teaching Formation Institute of the Loyola Schools, endorsed the activity to new faculty members, several of whom attended the workshop.

The Office of the SoSS Dean and the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University (ACFJ) supported the event. In the Loyola Schools the ACFJ has pioneered online teaching through its graduate programs in journalism.
