Ateneo DipIR Students as Secretariat during the AICHR Consultation on Protective Mechanisms on Women and Girls
Diplomacy and skillful negotiation are best learned through observation and experience. This was the key learning of sophomore Diplomacy and International Relations (DipIR) students taking up Comparative Politics in Asia when they were given the opportunity to work in the Secretariat Team of the recently held ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) Civil Society Pre-Regional Consultation on Protective Mechanisms for Women and Girls last 3 March 2015. The undergraduate students were joined by an MA student from the Political Science-Global Politics program of the Political Science Department and a PhD student from Monash University. The activity was convened by the Office of the Philippine Representative to AICHR, Department of Foreign Affairs.
