Ateneo Political Science faculty Dr. Lourdes Veneracion-Rallonza attended the first Southeast Asia-Africa Dialogue on Regionalism, Norm Promotion and Capacity Building for Human Protection. She delivered a paper entitled "Advancing the Prevention of Violence Against Women (VAW) in Armed Conflict through Capacity Building: Lessons from the Philippines" in Bangkok, Thailand, on 29 October 2014. Her paper is included in the special issue of the journal, Global Responsibility to Protect, published by the University of Queensland, Australia.
The Dialogue was organized by the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect-The University of Queensland, Sta Lucia, Australia and the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
Dr. Veneracion-Rallonza serves as the Philippine Coordinator of the Asia-Pacific Center on the Responsibility to Protect.
