EVENT DESCRIPTIONS
  1. SOSS BAZAAR 2013: LAISSEZ-FAIR

Date: February 6 to 8, 2013
Venue: Zen Garden
 
Laissez-Fair is a 3-day bazaar featuring the businesses of student entrepreneurs and several food and dry goods concessionaires. The bazaar will coincide with the Loyola Mountaineers’ Balikasan 2013 and will include a stage and an area where students can dine.
 

  1. SOSS KING AND QUEEN

Date: February 4 to 9, 2013
Venue: Zen Garden
SOSS King and Queen is a weeklong competition between the SOSS home organizations, as well as the Sector-Based Cluster. Each organization will be represented by a couple, who will each take part in a series of challenges including an online photo contest, a makeover challenge, a talent competition and the SOSSage eating contest.

  1. SOSS AMAZING RACE

Date: February 9, 2013
Venues: Bellarmine Field, Sec Field, SOSS Garden, Blue Eagle Gym, and SOM Field
 
The Amazing Race is a campus-wide race that aims to foster unity among the diversity of the different social sciences. Five teams comprised of eight members will be put against each other in a race to the finish line where the prize is just as huge as the adventure they are to undertake.
 

  1. SABAY SA BAYAN: SENATORIABLE FORUM 2013

Date: February 8, 2013
Venue: Irwin Theater

Sabay Sa Bayan is an open forum that will be carried out by different senatorial bets for the upcoming elections. It aims to serve as an avenue for them to discuss their own agendas, which they believe should be the one of foci to make this nation even greater. It is a tie up between the School of Social Sciences Sanggunian, Ateneo Task Force 2013, the Political Science Department, the Ateneo School of Government and SLB.
 

  1. LGBT DAY

Date: February 7, 2013
Venue: Zen Garden and CTC 202
LGBT Day is a whole day event that aims to shed light on the different issues, struggles and experiences of the LGBT community. It will include an LGBT parade around the campus, an open forum, a freedom wall and a photo exhibit.

  1. CAREER TALKS: HANEP! BUHAY

Date: February 6, 2013
Venue: CTC and Berchmans Classrooms
 
Hanep! Buhay is a series of career exploration talks for junior college students in the School of Social Sciences. The event highlights unconventional career opportunities so that their career horizons may expand to vocations they may not have considered.
 

  1. BEAT THE SOSS PROF

Date: February 7, 2013
Venue: MVP Roof Deck
 
Beat the SOSS Prof is a panel game show competition, inspired by Hollywood Squares, wherein two SOSS students will play tic-tac-toe in order to win a prize. The panel will consist of SOSS professors; they will be asked questions and the contestants judge the veracity of their answers in order to win the game.
 

  1. SOSS WEEK CULMINATING NIGHT

Date: February 9, 2013
Venue: Il Ponticello
The SOSS Week Culminating Night, entitled Chroma, will be held at the restaurant and bar, Il Ponticello. There will be a program from 8:00 to 10:00PM, which will consist of the culmination of the SOSS King and Queen competition and will be followed by a night of great music and dancing.
