450 employees honored for their dedication and service
Every year, the Ateneo de Manila University community gathers to celebrate the service, dedication, and commitment of Ateneo employees.
Four hundred and fifty employees were recognized at the 43rd University Service Awards.
“I know that the University Service Awards is one of the biggest events in Ateneo de Manila which I think is appropriate since it is dedicated to you, the men and women who share in the educational mission of the Jesuits in the Philippines. Without your loyal and steadfast service, Ateneo de Manila would not even be possible,” said University President Fr Roberto C Yap SJ.
Typically, the celebration takes the form of a ceremony and a Presidential Luncheon for awardees who have rendered service for 25 years or more. However, given the current public health challenges, this year’s celebration was a virtual event.
An integral part of its overall employee relations program, the University Service Awards began in 1978. Through these annual awards, the University recognizes the service milestones of all employees.
Twenty-five-year awardees will receive monetary rewards and service plaques, while certificates will be given to 30-year and above awardees. Employees who have been with Ateneo at five-year increments (5,10, 15, and 20) will receive service plaques. Five-year awardees will get service pins.
