AJHS & ASHS sponsor 'Way of the Cross' on March 8, 2019

As part of our Lenten tradition in the Ateneo de Manila University, we will hold the University Way of the Cross on Friday, March 8, 2019. This is sponsored by the Ateneo de Manila Junior and Senior High School.

The theme for this year is “ANG DAAN NG KRUS: KANLUNGAN NG AWA” (The Ateneo de Manila University Community Way of the Cross & Penitential Rite). 

The theme was inspired by Pope Francis’ homily during the Concluding Mass of World Youth Day 2019 in Panama wherein he invited the young people to allow Jesus’ merciful love to enter and win over their hearts. “He is concrete, close, real love. He is festive joy, born of opting for and taking part in the miraculous draught of hope and charity, solidarity and fraternity, despite the paralyzed and paralyzing gaze born of fear and exclusion, speculation and manipulation.”

Thus, within this event, the community are invited to take part in the following activities:

The Ateneo will have its own version of Panama World Youth Day’s “Forgiveness Park” called “Kanlungan ng Awa” at the Bellarmine Field, on Friday, March 8, 2019, 6:30pm.

We hope to see you as we walk together as a community in prayer. May we have a deeper experience of God’s loving mercy most especially in this season of Lent.
