A week after being part of the team that won the Asian Schools Debate Championship (ASDC) in Malaysia, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School debater Luigi Alcañeses of 12A has won the two top individual prizes at the Ateneo Debate Camp (ADC). Alcañeses won the awards for Best Overall Speaker and Best Finals Speaker at the ADC, which was held from June 17-19, 2016 at the Loyola Schools campus of Ateneo de Manila University.  Also named among the best speakers at ADC were Ateneo Junior High School grade 10 student Matti Tan (3rd best speaker) and Ateneo Senior High School grade 12 student Nicky Solis (6th best speaker).

In the camp's debate competition, Luigi Alcañeses and teammate Matti Tan placed second to a pair of females from Immaculate Concepcion Academy (ICA) and Assumption San Lorenzo.
