Algenio wins silver for PH in Asia Math Olympiad held in Taiwan

Representing the Philippines, Ateneo Senior High School mathlete Sophia Algenio of ABM/11-Angelis won the Silver Honor in the senior secondary division of the Asia International Mathematics Olympiad (AIMO). The math wizards who represented the Philippines garnered a total of nine gold, 28 silver, and 48 bronze medals in the AIMO, in addition to the 30 merit awards won in the individual contest.  The AIMO was held in Taiwan from August 4 – 8, 2019, drawing hundreds of participants from Taiwan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Macau, Indonesia, Iran, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, China, Thailand and Australia.
