ASHS mathletes win 4 golds for PH in MWB Autumn Round

Five Ateneo de Manila Senior High School mathletes won medal awards in the Mathematics Without Borders (MWB) Autumn Round 2021, which was held online on October 23, 2021. Winning gold awards were Deanne Algenio (12-Beyzym), Jimbo Bernardo (12-Pro), Evgeny Cruz (11-Mayer), and Keean Tang (12-Sullivan). Winning a silver award was Amber Lim (11-Tsuji). Deanne, Jimbo, Evgeny, Keean and Amber all competed in the Age Group 9 division.
The MWB Autumn Round 2021 attracted more than 18,200 students from 23 countries: Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Estonia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malta, Montenegro, Nigeria, Northern Macedonia, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Taiwan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. Since it was established in Bulgaria in 2013, the MWB International Tournament has become one of the biggest contests worldwide in terms of participant numbers and participating countries from five continents.
Each MWB remote round (Autumn, Winter, Spring) test consists of 20 open-ended problems based on the themes from the syllabus, which contestants have 60 minutes to answer.
All contestants who won at least one medal in the remote rounds will gain access to the MWB Final Round, which will be held from July 1 – 5, 2022.
