Bernardo wins gold for PH in MWB Spring Round and Final Round

Representing the Philippines, ASHS mathletes Jimbo Bernardo (11-San Vitores), Deanne Algenio (11-Borja), and Keean Tang (11-Torres) won gold, silver, and bronze- respectively- in the Mathematics Without Borders (MWB) Final Round held from August 16-17, 2020.
At the MWB Spring Round held in June prior to the Final Round, Jimbo also won a gold medal, while Keean and Deanna took silver and bronze, respectively.   

The MWB Spring Round had 4444 participants from 13 countries: Australia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Malta, North Macedonia, the Philippines, Romania, Slovenia, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. It was held online on June 20, 2020.

The MWB Final Round was held in Nessebar, Bulgaria from August 16-17, 2020, with 690 Bulgarian onsite contestants and another 930 contestants from 18 countries competing online from their homelands. The countries which fielded contestants online were Afghanistan, Australia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgizstan, Macedonia, Malta, Nigeria, the Philippines, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
