Keean Tang is SIMOC’s Overall 1st Runnerup

Representing the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila Senior High School mathletes Keean Tang (12-Sullivan), Enzo Chan (11-Tsuji) and Jimbo Bernardo (12-Pro) won multiple medal awards in the Singapore International Mathematics Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC), which was held virtually on July 24, 2021. Leading the ASHS awardees was Keean, who was named Overall 1st Runnerup in the Grade 11 & 12 division thanks to an award haul that included gold in the Math Olympiad and bronze in the team-based Math Master Mind. (Last year, Keean was named Overall 2nd Runnerup in the Grade 10 division in SIMOC 2020.) For his part, Enzo got a perfect score and secured gold in the Math Olympiad’s grade 10 division, and silver in Math Master Mind. Meanwhile, Jimbo won gold in the Math Olympiad’s grade 11& 12 division, and bronze in Math Master Mind.


 
SIMOC is a mathematics competition for students from grades 2 to 12 which not only tests their ability to solve mathematical problems on pen and paper, but also gives them an opportunity to work as a team with top mathematical talents from around the world while playing interactive mathematical games and solving puzzles.
