Keean Tang wins gold for PH in IKMC

Ateneo de Manila Senior High School mathletes Keean Tang (11-Torres), Nikki Chan (12-Oldcorne), Marion De Leon (12-Pro), Marvin Tan (11-Perez) and Marin De Leon (11-Realino) each won a medal for the Philippines in the 2020 International Kangaroo Mathematics Olympiad (IKMC). Leading them was Keean, who received the gold medal. Taking silver were Nikki, Marvin and Marion. Bagging bronze was Marin. 

Filipino mathletes garnered a total of 107 gold, 179 silver, and 290 bronze medals in the IKMC, which was conducted in the country online on June 27, 2020. The International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest originated in France in 1991 and quickly became very popular with students all over the globe. The contest’s main purpose is to promote mathematical thinking and stimulate an interest in math by providing students with an opportunity to broaden their minds and compare their abilities against the abilities of other students across the world.
