Ong bags silver in Singapore Informatics Olympiad

Dion Ong of 11-Perez bagged a silver medal in the 22nd Singapore National Olympiad in Informatics (NOI) organized by and held in the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore on March 23, 2019. The by-invitation-only computing competition challenged participants to complete five programming tasks in five hours. The NOI is modelled after the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) and is one of the most prestigious competitions for programming in Singapore. This year, there were 226 participants from five countries, the majority of whom hailed from the host country. The guest countries included Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. An online elimination round was previously conducted by NUS last February 9, 2019 to invite top 6 qualified high school students in the Philippines.
