Rivera wins gold for PH in Vanda science competition
Representing the Philippines, Ninna Rivera (12-Oldcorne) and Jimbo Bernardo (11-San Vitores) won the gold award and the bronze award- respectively- in the Vanda International Science Competition that was held online on September 5, 2020. Ninna’s gold was for the Junior College 1 & 2 division, while Jimbo’s bronze was for the Grade 10 division.
Per the Vanda website, Vanda is a science competition held annually around the globe that focuses on the students’ ability to think critically and creatively to pick out hidden information to aid them in solving questions.
Among the countries which participated in the 2020 competition were Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
