Stephanie Dela Merced & Shawnn Nadurata of the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School Class of 2019 received the University Scholarly Work Publications Award at a Zoom ceremony held on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Though the award is given to faculty members and students of Ateneo de Manila University for their published work, it is rare for high school students to be published in a Scopus indexed publication.

In 2019, Stephanie & Shawnn, together with Dr. Erwine Dela Paz, successfully published their research entitled, "Surface functionalized Philippine natural zeolite for arsenic adsorption in an aqueous solution" in the Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, a peer-reviewed international journal outlet. They even presented their paper at an international symposium held at the Nagoya Institute of Technology in Nagoya, Japan in March 2019. The students began their research work when they were in grade 11 under the guidance of their research teacher, Dr. Erwine S. Dela Paz, and a parent scientist, Ms. Eleonor Olegario.

Stephanie & Shawnn are currently students in the Loyola Schools.
