Ateneo de Manila bags 11 golds, 7 silvers, and 4 bronzes in track & field events of Jesuit Athletic Meet
Nine Ateneo de Manila Senior High School students won a total of 11 gold medals, seven silvers and four bronzes in 14 track and field events for boys of the Jesuit Athletics Meet (JAM) that was concluded last October 30, 2018 in Cebu City:
Jose Maria Sison (12-Geronimo) won three golds for the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m.
David Antonio (12-Acquaviva) won three golds (shotput, discus throw, javelin throw).
Augusto Cruz (12-Kibe) won four golds (100m, 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay).
Miggy Restor (12-Navarro) won two golds (400m, 4x400m relay), one silver (200m run), and one bronze (high jump).
Mari Sison (12-Miki) won one gold (4x400m relay) and two silvers (400m, 800m).
Gio Divino (12-Holland) won one gold (4x100m relay) and one silver (100m run).
Lucas Lopez (12-Grodecky) won one gold (4x100m relay) and two bronzes (shotput, long jump).
Ray Vicente (12-Daniel) won one gold (4x400m relay), one silver (high jump), and one bronze (triple jump).
Marcus Lao (12-Holland) won one gold (4x100m relay) and two silvers (triple Jump, long jump).
They were accompanied in Cebu by Micah Perez, head coach of the Ateneo de Manila Senior High School track & field team.
The Jesuit Athletic Meet aims to foster fellowship and unity among the 10 Jesuit schools in the Philippines (Ateneo de Manila University, Xavier School San Juan, Xavier School Nuvali, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, Ateneo de Naga University, Ateneo de Zamboanga, Ateneo de Davao, Ateneo de Iloilo, Loyola College of Culion and Sacred Heart School/Ateneo de Cebu) through sports. An estimated 1,000 athletes and officials from 10 Jesuit-run high schools from all over the nation participated in the 2018 edition of the tournament. The Jesuit Athletic Meet 2018 was hosted by Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu from October 25 to 30, 2018 at its campus in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City. The featured sporting events were basketball, chess, football, futsal, swimming, track & field, and volleyball.
