Ateneo de Manila is boys’ football champion of the 2018 Jesuit Athletic Meet

Composed of players from the Ateneo de Manila Junior High School and Ateneo de Manila Senior High School, Ateneo de Manila was crowned Jesuit Athletics Meet (JAM) boys’ football champion after defeating Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu 1-0 in the JAM final last October 30, 2018. The game's sole goal was courtesy of Austin Basconcillo.  Austin Basconcillo scored the winning goal for Ateneo de Manila in the final against Ateneo de Cebu.

Playing for the Ateneo de Manila football team were Kristoffer Abaa (11-Gonzaga), Martin Antepuesto (11-Angelis), Austin Basconcillio (11-Garnet), Giap Bongolan (12-Miki), Marcus Bricia (12-Denn), Artuz Cezar (11-Campion), Kristian Cordero (12-Gonzalez), Robby Cruel (11-Wright), Jet dela Cruz (12-Acquaviva), Elijah Fabregas (11-De Brito), Sky Guerrero (12-Anchieta), Ryan Herrera (11-Wright), Julian Ignacio (12-Holland), Iñigo Lazaro (11-Wright), Jose Lopez (12-Pantalia), Rico Magno (11-Goupil), Manu Mariano (9-Baldinucci), Jethro Paraso (12-Evans), Andy Roxas (10-Garate), Kendryx Soriano (12-Gonzalez), Ryan Tiambeng (11-Perez), and Chio Uy (12-Anchieta).
 
The Jesuit Athletic Meet aims to foster fellowship and unity among the 10 Jesuit schools in the Philippines (Ateneo de Manila University, Xavier School San Juan, Xavier School Nuvali, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, Ateneo de Naga University, Ateneo de Zamboanga, Ateneo de Davao, Ateneo de Iloilo, Loyola College of Culion and Sacred Heart School/Ateneo de Cebu) through sports. An estimated 1,000 high school athletes and officials from 10 Jesuit-run high schools from all over the nation participated in the 2018 edition of the tournament. The Jesuit Athletic Meet 2018 was hosted by Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu from October 25 to 30, 2018 at its campus in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City. The featured sporting events were basketball, chess, football, futsal, swimming, track & field, and volleyball.
