JD Mercado wins gold & silver medals at QC Track & Field Meet

Ateneo Senior High School student JD Mercado of 11-Hoyos won two medals over two days at the Quezon City track and field meet. On November 28, he won a gold medal for the shotput. On November 29, he won a silver medal for the discus throw.  The Quezon City athletics meet is a prequalfier for Palarong Pambansa. As the gold medalist in the shotput, JD will represent Quezon City in the NCR regionals, which will pit him against the best shotput throwers in the National Capital Region. Whoever wins that competition will represent NCR in the shotput event of Palarong Pambansa 2017.
