Jian Bautista ranks 6th among fencing cadets in Asia

Per the list posted by the 2017 FCA Cadet Circuit last July 29, 2017, Ateneo Senior High School student Jian Bautista of HUMSS/11-Nakaura is currently the #6 ranked epee fencer (cadet division) in Asia. Jian is also the only Filipino and the only Atenean in the Top 25. 

  
Representing the Philippines, Jian emerged as champion/ gold medalist of the individual men’s epee of the Asian Cadet Fencing Circuit. The competition was held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia from July 22-23, 2017. 

A week before he grabbed gold in Australia, Jian won a silver medal in the boys’ team epee and a bronze medal in the junior boys’ team epee in the 2017 Southeast Asia Pacific Fencing Championships, where he also competed under the banner of Team Philippines. The SEAP fencing tournament was concluded on July 17, 2017 at the Philsports/Ultra Multi Purpose Hall.
