Tiel Blanca is int’l online chess tourney’s overall winner

Incoming Ateneo de Manila Junior High School Grade 9 mathlete and chess wizard Tiel Blanca (Pamplona/8-Pongracz in school year 2020-2021) emerged as the open category overall winner of the Late Subedar Ishwar Singh Memorial Online Open Chess Tournament. Organized by the India-based Little Angels High School (LAHS) Gwalior chess organization, the tournament was held online using the lichess.org platform on July 19, 2021. Tiel played a total of 20 games in a field of 240 competitors in the open category, earning a record of 17 wins, two draws and one loss.
