FR. JOAQUIN G. BERNAS, SJ INSTITUTE FOR CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION
The Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, S.J. Institute for Continuing Legal Education (Bernas Center) operates as a special unit of the Ateneo Law School, with the Ateneo Law Faculty, alumni and students as its principal resource.
Through contributions and endowment grants, a two-storey building was constructed on a portion of the roofdeck on the fourth floor, with a façade matching that of the APS Building, and featuring the following facilities:
- The ground floor, has a memorabilia foyer accessible from the 4th Floor Lobby (in the same level as Veritas, Integritas and Justitia), leading to a main Function Area that can seat 56 persons, a coffee shop section, faculty offices, and a stairway leading to the Second Floor.
- The second floor, has two (2) conference rooms, each having a capacity of 10 persons, a foyer where tables and sofas could provide a meeting area, and a Seminar/AVR Center that can accommodate 64 persons.
- All various areas and sections of the Center are connected by strategically mounted LCD’s, and the Center has wi-fi facilities.
The Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, S.J. Institute for Continuing Legal Education provides a venue for continuing legal education programs by holding legal education series, undertaking legal researches and producing legal publications on current, relevant and important legal topics and subjects. The activities of the Fr. Joaquin G. Bernas, S.J. Institute for Continuing Legal Education are intended to address the demand among law practitioners and those interested in the law from government and non-government institutions for legal updates and analytical discussions.
