Biography:
Aris specializes in corporate and commercial transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. He is also well-immersed in public contracts and government procurement after having accumulated a wealth of experience in advising sponsors and lenders in relation to the financing of important government projects in Manila, Singapore, Vietnam, and Tokyo.
In recent years, Aris has been active in Philippine procurement projects, having represented both sides (i.e., government and bidders) in the bidding process. Aris has advised the Philippine government and private bidders on various flagship Public-Private Partnership projects (including a dike-expressway-reclamation project, metropolitan light rail transit system and the Philippines' second largest airport).
Aris also has substantial experience in trade regulation (particularly ASEAN trade law) and competition law (having assisted Harry First, the former Chief of the Antitrust Bureau of the Office of the Attorney General of New York, in analyzing global trends in antitrust law enforcement).
Aris is admitted to practice in the Philippines and in New York. He was also previously licensed as a foreign legal practitioner in Vietnam from 2006 to 2011.
