Sensors for Mining Program: Integrated Sensing System Using Mobile and Cloud Technologies for Mining and Nearby Communities
Funding Institution: Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST - PCIEERD)
Duration: August 2013 - December 2015
Faculty involved: Dr. Emilyn Q. Espiritu (Project Leader)
Dr. Rene Claveria (Project Leader)
Other institutions involved: UP Institute of Chemistry, University of Santo Tomas and AdMU SOSE Departments
The general objective of the project is to design low-cost, real-time, mobile nano-based devices for monitoring of water quality and human exposures to arsenic and mercury in communities downstream of both small-scale and large scale mining operations.
