Ateneo Psyche—where people come first.

 

Psyche is Greek for the human “soul.” This word captures what it means to be human—having a mind—something that differentiates us from other animals. Thus, Psychology is the scientific study of the Psyche, of behavior and mental processes. The Ateneo Psyche seeks to dive into the depths of the human being and peer at its inner workings using rigorous scientific endeavors. Through its projects, much insight about the experience of others and of the self are brought forth. The organization also gives opportunities to actually visit and interact with the patients from a mental ward.

 

This constitutes an important advocacy of Ateneo Psyche, which is promoting wellness, alleviating the horror stigma placed upon those in the mental sector and to present the truth of its current state. As the home organization to Psychology Majors, avenues are created which would permit the fostering of inter-course and inter-batch relationships. Several opportunities are also granted to allow the development of talent. Here, members are not only developed through the pursuit of knowledge, they also form lasting friendships and are shaped in becoming better people.
