Ortega wins silver for PH at World Robot Games
Representing the Philippines, Lance Ortega of STEM/11-Realino bagged the silver medal in the senior category of the World Robot Games (WRG) held from October 24-26, 2018. The competition was held in the Tagaytay International Convention Center.
Per the WRG website, the theme for the 2018 competition was “Sustainable Life Below Water,” which focused on conserving and sustainable use of the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
Among the participating countries were the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Taiwan, and Malaysia.
The Games included Sumo Robot, Line Tracing, Fire Fighting, Search and Rescue, Battle Ball Z, and Innovative. There were also new sets of games such as Underwater Robot, Biped Robot Race, and Wheeled Robot Rugby.
